(Husbands, if you are reading, you are invited to pray these scriptures and thoughts over your wives.)
Libido has three interwoven parts and then several dozen minor strands.
Physical
Emotional
Spiritual
A minor strand sewn somewhere through the two headings, emotional and spiritual, is called service to others or charitable spirit.
I realize there is the potential for euphemisms with the word service. That is not the intended meaning. The focus is helping others outside of your family unit.
So, why would I bring up serving others in a post to increase libido?
We are made in the image of God. God modeled us after himself. He gifts his love and service to us. He made us so we could gift service and love others. I believe we each possess an inner craving to serve. This inner craving occasionally gets clouded over with worldy worries and desires.
Service to others is Christ-like.
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet,” John 13:14.
Service to others helps us connect on a merciful level with our fellow man.
“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?” The expert in the law replied “The one who had mercy on him.” Jesus told him, “God and do likewise,” Luke 10:36-37.
Service elevates life and shows you how to value others (See Self-Value Is Sexy).
“Not so with you. Instead, whoever want to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all,” Mark 10:43-44.
Service reveals your heart is full of gracious love.
“Again Jesus said, ‘Simon, son of John, do you truly love me?’ He answered, ‘Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.’ Jesus said, ‘Take care of my sheep,’ John 21:16.
Science backs this up as well. The Journal of Advanced Nursing, Mar. 2002, published a study of Dialysis Peer Support Volunteers. Click link here. This study showed increased well-being for the volunteers through their altruism.
Serving others helps us see the Spark of God in others. ALL people were made by God and have his breath of life. Serving helps us see decency in the vast majority of people. It gives us perspective when we see the issues others are dealing with. It does our hearts good to connect.
It is OK to enjoy the blessings the leak into your heart from serving. It is not pride. It is connection that helps you feel so good. This feeling of good and contentment will spill over into other areas of your life.
Turn your heart, that is filled with the blessing of connection, and look toward your sweetest connection; love making with your husband.
Bringing God into the bedroom involves bringing God fully into your heart.

I possessincreasing sexual energy and desire for my husband. I acknowledge that sexual intimacy with my husband is God-ordained and good.
